What you'll be doing - the overview

You will be responsible for the design and production of creative assets for use across all areas of the business. This will include our wholesale partners, our retail shop and the Start-Rite shoes website.

Who we’re looking for
At Start-Rite Shoes, we’re all about supporting children to explore and grow. Just like the kids we design for, we’re constantly evolving, pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation. We’re looking for a passionate and talented Graphic Designer to join our in-house marketing team and help bring our brand to life across various platforms. If you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and love turning ideas into impactful creative designs, we want to hear from you!

What you'll be doing - the detail

As a key member of our creative team, you’ll work on a wide variety of design projects that span both digital and print, from web and social media assets to email campaigns, POS, and large-scale retail installations. You’ll be instrumental in translating our marketing strategies into captivating visuals that resonate with both retailers, parents and children.

Creative Execution: Bring fresh, original ideas to life through digital and print design—whether it’s a social post, email campaign, product catalogue, or in-store display, your designs will be front and centre.
Brand Guardian: Ensure our brand is consistently represented across all touchpoints, maintaining the integrity of Start-Rite’s voice, style, and mission.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Marketing, eCommerce, Sales and Product teams to create designs that align with strategic goals. Be part of brainstorming sessions and offer fresh insights that will shape the visual identity of upcoming campaigns.
Project Management: Lead design projects from concept to delivery, managing multiple deadlines and ensuring smooth execution of everything from small digital assets to large-scale print materials and installations.
Creative Support: Assist our freelance designer with day-to-day tasks and provide guidance on briefs, ensuring everyone is aligned and on track to meet deadlines.
Photoshoot Assistance: Get involved in seasonal photoshoots, helping with creative direction and ensuring the visuals align with the overall brand vision.
Supplier Management: When needed, identify and liaise with external suppliers, ensuring specs are clear and quotes are accurate.
Stay Ahead of Trends: Keep up with the latest design trends, emerging software tools, and retail innovations to bring fresh ideas to the table and keep Start-Rite ahead of the curve.

What you need

We need someone who is both a skilled designer and a creative thinker, someone who can juggle multiple projects with ease while keeping a sharp eye on the details. You’ll be self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working under pressure—this role is for someone who loves a challenge and isn’t afraid to take creative risks.
An experienced independent designer: You will have 3-5+ years’ experience of commercial design either in-house or agency side. You will be confident in creating designs for a variety of platforms from start to finish.
Organised & efficient: You can manage multiple projects at once, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines. You thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communicator: You know how to express your creative ideas clearly, both in writing and verbally, and are comfortable presenting and justifying your design choices to others.
Technical skills: You’re highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator). After Effects experience is a big plus!
Experience in retail & digital marketing: You have experience in retail design, with a deep understanding of how to create visually compelling assets for both online and offline channels.
Collaborative spirit: You enjoy working as part of a team, but can also take the lead on projects when necessary. You’re not afraid to offer ideas, provide direction, and give feedback to others.
Flexibility & creativity: You bring new ideas to the table and are always ready to adapt and experiment with fresh approaches.
Attention to detail: You have an eye for detail, ensuring all your work is pixel-perfect and aligns with our brand standards.

Why work with us

Creative Freedom: We encourage fresh ideas and creative freedom—you’ll have the opportunity to shape the direction of our design projects.
Variety: No two days will be the same! You’ll work on a diverse range of projects across different media, keeping your work exciting and varied.
Great team & culture: Join a supportive, fun, and collaborative team. We value each person’s contribution.
Flexibility: We believe in work-life balance and offer flexibility to help you achieve it.
